Do you believe John 3:16? Then why isn’t Mark 16:17–18 your daily life?
Hi, I’m Addison. You’re reading (or listening to) Bigger Than Me—a weekly guide devoted to removing the fears, doubts, and misconceptions that keep believers from healing the sick in everyday life.

Kris was sitting in his truck on a job site.
Tree work.
Felling towering, dying trees on a client’s sprawling estate.
He needed to stay sharp to keep his crew safe.
That was proving difficult.
The sickness came on subtly that morning.
Manageable at first,
something he could work through.
Within an hour it ramped up.
He’d dealt with this before—
Norovirus cropping up during a cold or flu.
As his strength lagged, Kris knew where this was headed.
Now he’s in his work truck,
trying to stay ahead of the symptoms—
the headache, brain fog, numbness, and nausea.
He called me.
Gives me the quick rundown.
“Let’s go after it” I said.
We thank God—then get started;
commanding the virus to leave,
telling his body to be restored.
A couple minutes in, I stop.
“Anything happening?”
He pauses.
“Yeah…it moved?”
“Where?” I asked.
“It was in my head—now it’s on my side.“
We keep going.
Commanding.
Staying with the symptoms.
Focused on Kris’ side now.
“It’s in my stomach now.”
We target his stomach.
Then it shifts again.
Around his torso.
Now up.
Across his shoulder,
to his neck.
We chase the pain as it moves.
“It’s back to my head.”
We command the sickness up and out.
“...nothing.”
Silence.
“I feel better.”
We stop.
By that afternoon, he was back to normal.

“I need to understand what’s happening.”
The symptoms move somewhere new.
Not what you expected.
You’ve never seen that before.
Instead of sticking with it,
you pause.
You study it.
What is this?
Is this right?
You step back just enough
to lose your footing.

Deal With It
The sickness wasn’t something to figure out.
It was something to deal with.
It didn’t matter where it moved.
We didn’t stop when it shifted.
We stayed with it.
We knew what to do.
Speak to it.
Command it out.
Stick with it until it’s gone.

A Prayer for Sticking With It

Dear Father,
Thank You that I don’t need to understand everything that’s happening.
Thank You that You’ve already made it clear what sickness is—
and what to do about it.
Jesus, thank You for the authority You’ve given me.
That I can speak directly
and expect things to change.
Holy Spirit, thank You that You are with me in the moment.
You guide me.
I will follow.
When things shift,
I won’t pull back.
I won’t pause to doubt,
or lose focus.
I will stay with You.
And I will see it through.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
Until next time,
Addison

How To Command Healing
Here’s a simple guide to start healing in Jesus’ name today:
Ask what’s wrong and have the person gauge pain or severity.
Ask to pray for them.
In the prayer:
Declare that the Kingdom of God is here and sickness can’t stay.
Directly command the problem to leave in Jesus‘ name.
Directly command the body to heal in Jesus’ name.
Have them test it and gauge improvement (if they can).
Listen for direction from God, then pray again if He tells you.
Witness and invite Holy Spirit to stay (if they’re not a believer already).
Take the experience to prayer to hear from God afterward.
